Senate President Steve Sweeney participated in the Cumberland County reorganization meeting on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, where he delivered the oath of office to Freeholders Carol Musso and Jack Surrency. New Jersey Senator Jeff Van Drew swore in Cumberland County Sheriff Robert Austino and Freeholder George Castellini. “I want to thank the members of the freeholder board and the county officers for their willingness to serve the public,” said Sweeney. “As a former freeholder director, I know what an incredible honor it is to serve at the county level and the opportunity it provides to bring positive change directly to families in the community. I look forward to working with the Cumberland County officials and to a great 2018.” Freeholder Musso (3rd District) was elected in November to her third term.Currently the vice president of business development at Century Savings Bank, the long-time banking industry member previously served on the Deerfield Township council. Castellini begins his first term as a county freeholder. He serves as chief executive officer and vice president of Biondi Insurance Agency, and is owner of the U.S. Central Systems security company in Vineland. He has 12 years of experience in law enforcement with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department and the Vineland Police Department. Another first-term freeholder, Surrency previously served as a member of Bridgeton’s council and school board and is business administrator for Fairfield Township. Austino was re-elected to his fourth consecutive three-year term as sheriff. The 2018 Reorganizational Swearing- In Ceremony was held at the Cumberland County Court House in the county seat of Bridgeton. The current seven Cumberland County freeholders include Darlene Barber, George Castellini, Carol Musso, James F. Quinn, Joseph V. Sparacio, Jack Currency, and Freeholder Director Joseph Derella, Jr
