More than 50 of our community’s most generous donors at-tended the memorable evening to hear featured speaker, William Daroff, Vice President for Public Policy and Director of the Washington Office of the Jewish Federations of North America. Millions of lives saved, cared for, reached out to and rebuilt; centuries-old Jewish tradi-tions and values preserved for future generations. We are facing challenging times. Every one of us is trying to do more with less. Our agency budgets are stretched to their limits and services may be reduced if we cannot make our goals. A gift to the Campaign helps meet a wide variety of needs across diverse Jewish popula-tions. From local programming at our Siegel JCC; social services through our JFS; Jewish education at our Jewish day school, the Albert Einstein Academy; connecting students at our local Hillel; caring for our elderly at the Kutz Home; Federation is strengthening the fabric of Jewish life. Last year, we were unable to meet the needs of every agency in our com-munity. There are many programs that went unfunded. Please help us meet the needs of as many Jews as possible, throughout our region and across the globe with your generous support of the 2013 Campaign. There is also still time to make your 2012 Campaign gift if you have not already done so. With the strength of a people and the power of community, we are Im-proving Our World…TOGETHER. Each of us has a unique view of the world and vision for our country. Each of us holds certain issues close to our hearts and weighs each issue care-fully with our minds. No matter the issue: the economy, civil rights, reproductive rights or Israel, someone feels that their issue is the most important. As a Jewish community, it is not our job to decide the issues for each other. In fact, from rabbis to The Jewish Federation, we remain a non-partisan sound-ing board. However, as the VOICE of the community, it is my job to provide you with information so that you can make your own decisions. The information in no way reflects my 2 opinion or the opinion of the Federation. However, it is also important to try our best to give you balanced information, so that the decision you make on how you feel about issues is an informed decision. Last month, I provided you with an article from Senator Coons on Obama’s stance on Israel. This month, two community members have written letters rebutting Senator Coons. It is my hope that not only do you look at both sides, but you also take time on your own to do more research, so that however you vote, you feel informed. Let October be your month to figure out what’s important to you, so when November comes around, you are ready to cast your vote.
