The Knights served as the Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, served as lectors at the Mass and were part of the procession. Every year, the knights host a Mass at St. Joseph’s to pray for and to remember the victims and their families, especially our past Grand Knight, Frank Skidmore. Presentations will include information on ad-vanced directives, legal issues, hospice, Catholic traditions, sacraments, and guidelines for funeral planning, services of funeral homes, bereavement. Information will be available for the elderly and their families, caregivers, and anyone inter-ested in learning how to “begin the conversa-tion.” All are welcome. Registration is required. [Information : (973) 635-0625.] held a memorial service on Sept. 11. On hand to assist Father Brando Ibarra, pastor, were politicians and Imam Nazmuddin Quddus of the Paterson Islamic Mission. Several hundred parishioners and members of the Islamic community were present to show their support to the Paterson Police, Fire, and EMS. Paterson Fire Deputy Chief Kevin Hancock and Police Officer Gabriel Spallacci assisted with a com mem -orative wreath laying presentation and the Passaic County Emerald Society Pipe and Drums Corps offered music in support of this event. Many members and officers of the Paterson Police, Fire, and K-9 units were present during this event. A parish festival with international food followed the ceremony.
